  • Sydney, 17 May 2012 – This year’s CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles® Awards Night has once again brought the residential custom installation industry together to recognise and reward high quality and professional integration across the region.

CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design Installation Association) has unveiled the winners of the highly coveted CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles® Awards at the Gala Awards Night, held for the first time in Brisbane.  The Awards ceremony was held at the exclusive Moda Events Portside on Wednesday 9 May with an audience of more than 300 industry professionals celebrating outstanding work from this year’s winners. This year’s CEDIA Awards were once again as competitive as ever and organisers were delighted that the 2012 Awards boasted 77 amazing project entries from 28 companies and from 5 countries; Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand and Taiwan.

“We are consistently impressed and proud of the standard of the projects that are being designed and installed from businesses across our region, and this year was no different!” says Stephen Miller, CEDIA Asia Pacific’s Executive Director.  “With over 300 guests the Awards Night is re-affirming its role as the networking highlight of the Expo and the industry event for the custom installation industry to celebrate the successes of their colleagues and enjoy an overall fantastic evening”.

“Our warmest congratulations go to all the winners and highly commended who truly deserve their success and our thanks go to all those entrants to this year’s scheme who are doing such a great job in setting the highest possible standards for the industry.  Finally, our thanks also to everyone who supported the Awards, including sponsors, judges and Awards Night guests.

The Awards Night was once again generously supported by businesses from within the industry and this year welcomed new sponsors Sonos and Audio Products Group (representing Niles, Elan, Xantech and Sunfire), with the overall CEDIA Awards scheme sponsored by Australian Smart Home Ideas.

Judging for the Awards was carried out by international and local industry experts; CEDIA Asia Pacific Vice Chairman and Education Chair, Steven Hill, was joined by Peter Aylett, Home Technology Associates UK. These individuals have countless years experience in the electronic systems industry through running their own companies, in addition to their involvement with CEDIA globally.
